Ratskeller Restaurant

Looking for a lunch or dinner option before or after the Midday Masterworks program? Deb recommends the Ratskeller Restaurant in the picturesque and historic Turner Hall, 1217 - 17th Avenue in Monroe, two blocks south of the downtown Square and across the street from the Monroe Middle School.

The lunch menu features an array of sandwiches, including Swiss fare, and a $7.95 "express" home-cooked hot buffet, which also includes soup and a garden-fresh salad bar. The Ratskeller Restaurant is open weekdays for lunch, from 11 am - 2 pm, and for dinner from 4:30 - 8 pm. Should you wish to make reservations, particularly before Midday Masterworks, call 608-325-3461.

The Turner Hall has an elevator just inside the south entrance to the building, with handicapped parking right in front of the building and additional parking across the street and near the building. A map of Turner Hall's location is available here.

The Turner Hall of Monroe is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Swiss Heritage and Community Center; smoke-free, handicapped-accessible, and listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places.
